Love and Relationships: The Meaning behind The Tower Card

Here's my take on things, as someone who's been interpreting Tarot for years:

Reading the Tower card upright, it could mean a couple things:

  • breakups: There's a good chance this card signifies an ended relationship.
  • independence: When this card shows up, it might be hinting at partners being too independent, choosing to live separately, managing separate finances, or putting their individual interests first. Unfortunately, this usually results in a diminished intimacy or connection.
  • age gap: It could suggest a considerable age gap between lovers.
  • career focus: Now, if you're single, The Tower could warn that you’re focusing too much on your job, and neglecting your love life.

When this card is flipped and is read in reversed, it also gives certain vibes:

  • pressure: You or your lover might feel overburdened or stifled by the other's demands and expectations. This pervasive presence can create a palpable tension.
  • isolation: It could point out that you've isolated yourself from people. Getting close to others might be quite a struggle.
  • secure relationship: Peculiarly, when the Tower is reversed and the Heart card pops up in the same reading, this unlikely duo signals a stable and enduring romantic bond. Go figure!
  • family refuge: Paired with the Home card, a reversed Tower depicts a family environment that shields you from external pressures or stress.
  • self-imposed isolation: Another interpretation of a reversed Tower is when the card suggests you're alienating yourself from your local community, preferring to tackle personal issues alone and limiting social interaction.

In my experience, deciphering the Tower is all about listening to what it whispers rather than succumbing to the usual fears or uncertainties it may elicit.

Your destiny is being desided right now...
